Biggest Shopping Centre in the Alps-Adriatic region uses enercret-technology, November 2005

In Villach Spar AG builds the biggest Shopping-Centre in the Alps-Adriatic region. The so called "Atrio" will provide a sales area of about 28.000 square meters and will be completed in 2007. In addition to the sales area the building contains free space of 3.000 square meters as well as restaurants and offices.

In order to keep the energy costs as low as possible, the pile foundations will be additionally used for heating and cooling. The piles are going to supply a thermal capacity of up to 6 megawatt for cooling and 5 megawatt for heating. 437 piles with an average length of 32 meters will be used in the second construction stage only. The total length of the tubes in these piles is about 145.000 running meters.
