Utility patents: |
The thermoactive floor slabs are protected by registered utility patents in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. |

How it works: |
Water-filled absorber units embedded in the concrete floor slabs are used to transport cooling/heating energy into the interiors of the building. As well as installing these units in cast-in-situ concrete, Nägele has developed prefabricated elements in steel-reinforced concrete in which the absorber units are installed at the factory. These slabs store the warm or cool temperatures and offer a balanced room climate.
Peak loads are smoothed out, paving the way for savings in installation and running costs. |

Suitably dimensioned pipe loops (usually 16mm, 18mm or 20mm) made of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-Xa) are laid in cages at the required spacing in the centre of the slab cross section or at a specified distance from the soffit. These absorber circuits are either laid in cages directly on site or supplied ready-fitted to wire mesh reinforcements. As no subsequent cutting or core drilling work is permitted in the area of the absorber circuits, it is essential to define such "taboo zones" with the structural engineer, architect and in-building services consultants at an early stage of the proceedings, and to include these areas on the layout drawings.
ENERCRET GmbH has already supplied thermoactive floor slabs for major building projects, both as prefabricated absorber circuits and as site installations. This gives Nägele the know-how and experience to provide first-class consultancy and installation services. Great emphasis is placed on a flexible approach to circuit installation in the interests of saving time and costs. |
